Hook Lab provides tools that help creators, brands, and agents collaborate using performance data. By using Hook Lab, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. When you use any feature that connects to YouTube or shows YouTube content or data, you also agree to:YouTube Terms of Service: https://www.youtube.com/t/terms

Hook Lab is not owned by or endorsed by YouTube or Google.2. Accounts
You must provide accurate information. You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for all activity under your account. You must tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access to your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, our Privacy Policy, YouTube or Google policies, or the law.3. Your Content
You retain all rights to content you upload, import, or create in Hook Lab. You grant Hook Lab a limited, worldwide, non exclusive license to store, process, and display your content to operate and improve the service (for example analytics, scoring, matching, and collaboration features you choose to use). You are responsible for any third party rights in your content. Do not upload or import content you do not have the right to share. You are responsible for your own decisions based on any insights, scores, or recommendations shown in Hook Lab.4. Data Sources and Connectors
Some features ingest data you export from third parties, for example YouTube CSV files or spreadsheets. You are solely responsible for your relationship with those services and for what you import. Some features connect directly to YouTube using YouTube API Services after you grant permission through your Google account.We request only the minimum scopes needed for the specific features you choose to use.
We use those permissions only for purposes that are clearly described in these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and in the product.
Revenue and other sensitive metrics remain private to you by default unless you choose to share them inside Hook Lab. You agree not to attempt to access our underlying API credentials, secrets, or security tokens, or to copy or reuse our connection logic outside Hook Lab.5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
Break the law, infringe intellectual property, or violate privacy. Attempt to access other users data or YouTube data you are not authorised to see. Interfere with service operation (for example abuse, denial of service, or automated scraping beyond intended usage). Use Hook Lab to bypass YouTube or Google technical or policy limits, or to scrape YouTube in ways that violate their terms. Use Hook Lab for high risk decisions such as credit, employment, or similar uses where such use would be inappropriate or illegal.If we believe your use creates risk for Hook Lab, our users, YouTube, or Google, we may suspend or restrict your access.
6. Service Changes
We may change or discontinue features at any time. When changes are likely to have significant impact, we will try to give reasonable notice inside the product or by email. Some features may change or be removed in order to comply with YouTube or Google policies or with legal requirements.7. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, uptime, performance, or fitness for a particular purpose. Any insights, recommendations, scores, or predictions are informational only. You remain responsible for your own content, channels, and business decisions.8. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hook Lab is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues. Our aggregate liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the total fees you paid to Hook Lab, if any, in the 12 months before the claim arose.9. Termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if:You breach these Terms, our Privacy Policy, YouTube policies, or Google policies.
Your use creates risk to the platform, other users, YouTube, or Google.
If your account is terminated, some data may be retained as described in the Privacy Policy, for example for legal, security, or audit reasons.10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute relating to these Terms.11. YouTube API Services and Google Data
11.1 Use of YouTube API Services
When you connect a YouTube channel, Hook Lab uses YouTube API Services to access certain YouTube data from your account according to the scopes and permissions you approve. Depending on your consent, this can include:Identifiers such as channel IDs, video IDs, and playlist IDs.
Channel and video metadata such as titles, descriptions, thumbnails, tags, categories, and publish dates.
Performance metrics and statistics that YouTube makes available through its APIs, such as views, watch time, retention, impressions, click through rates, subscribers, likes, and comments.
We use this data only:To provide user facing features that are visible and meaningful in Hook Lab, such as dashboards, analytics views, and workflow tools you choose to use.
To operate, secure, and improve those features in line with YouTube API Services policies and your consent.
11.2 What we do not do with YouTube API Data
Subject to applicable law and YouTube policies, we do not:
Use YouTube API Data to create new or derived data or metrics or to replace YouTube metrics. Sell YouTube API Data or transfer it to advertisers, data brokers, or similar third parties. Use YouTube API Data to build profiles for advertising or for credit, employment, or other high risk decisions. Combine YouTube API Data from different content owners in ways that would reveal YouTube business performance or confidential metrics.If we display information or metrics that are not based on YouTube API Data alongside YouTube metrics, we will clearly label those additional items as not from YouTube and as part of Hook Lab’s own product.
11.3 Storage, caching, and retention
We may store authorisation tokens while your connection remains active so we can refresh data and keep your views up to date. We use these tokens only for purposes consistent with your consent. We may store analytics and reporting statistics that YouTube allows to be stored while we have valid authorisation and only for purposes described in these Terms and our Privacy Policy. For other stored YouTube API Data we follow YouTube rules on refreshing, caching, and deleting data, including:Periodically confirming that authorisation is still valid.
Deleting or refreshing stored YouTube API Data within the time frames required by YouTube Developer Policies, including deleting or anonymising revoked YouTube API Data within 7 calendar days where those policies require this.
11.4 Revoking access and data deletion
You can revoke Hook Lab’s access to your YouTube data at any time:
In Hook Lab, by using the disconnect or remove channel option where provided. In your Google account security settings, for example:https://myaccount.google.com/permissions or https://myaccount.google.com/connections
When you disconnect inside Hook Lab:
We programmatically revoke the applicable tokens as soon as reasonably possible. We delete or anonymise associated YouTube API Data we store as soon as reasonably possible and in any case within 7 calendar days, in line with YouTube policies and applicable law.When you revoke access in your Google account:
We periodically check whether our authorisation tokens are still valid. If a token cannot be refreshed or is revoked, we treat this as a revocation event and delete or anonymise related stored YouTube API Data as soon as reasonably possible and in any case within 7 calendar days, in line with YouTube policies and applicable law.Deleting data from Hook Lab does not delete data on YouTube. To change or delete your content on YouTube you must use YouTube or another authorised client.
11.5 Compliance and changes
We operate YouTube related features in line with:YouTube API Services Terms of Service and Developer Policies.
Google API Services User Data Policy.
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.* If these policies change, we may adjust how we handle YouTube data and may modify or remove features if needed to remain compliant. Where changes are material for you, we will provide notice in the product or by email.
